frequently asked questions
WHY ISN'T THE CARD I WANT AVAILABLE?:
Not to beat a dead horse (whack, whack), but we are a small business, in every sense of the phrase. We will occassionally run out of stock on certain items, and it may be some time before they reappear on our site. The nature of the letterpressed process (it takes awhile), and the constraints of our printer, do not allow us to reprint one batch of cards every few weeks. We have to wait until enough stock is gone to warrant a press run. This is another way we keep our costs down. If there's something you simply must have ASAP, please email us and we may be able to accomodate a custom run of an item, for a nominal fee. Or just let us know what you're waiting for and we will notify you when it is back on the site. Keep in mind that we will be adding new designs throughout the year, and most older items will be reprinted at those times. CHECK BACK OFTEN!
WHY DO THESE COST SO MUCH?:
Well, we hope you aren't asking that! To be fair, our cards are more expensive than some, and less than others. We are satisfied that our prices are very competitive with other letterpressed stationery available on the web, and most cards in stores. Keep in mind, that like a microbrewery we make things in small batches, take great care with quality control, and use the finest raw materials for our products. Also, the letterpress process is timely and costly. Plus, we feel our cards have a character that the mass-produced cards in stores do not.
We have taken measures to keep costs low (using PayPal for one, and not using fancy packaging that no one keeps anyway!) and pass those savings onto our customers.
WHY DO YOU KEEP COMPARING YOUR CARDS TO BEER?:
Hmmm, good question. It's not because we're boozers if that's what you're thinking. Basically, we prefer the quality and taste of microbrews over the Big Boys, we prefer limited edtion books to New York Times Bestsellers (yeah, yeah, we know a lot of them are good), we like Indie movies over blockbusters, we'd rather go to a gallery than a club (for fear of sounding snobby), and we like things that have some character, aren't widely available, and you may have to hunt for. We'd like to think our cards have those qualities. We hope you think so too.
I WANT TO SELL YOUR CARDS IN MY STORE:
We would love to have Letter Pressed cards on your shelves. Retailers please email us for more information. Although it probably doesn't need to be said, you must be a business with a valid seller's permit to receive wholesale pricing.
